Optimal process control for compost formation

In industrial compost formation applications, the oxygen measuring system MF420-O-M and temperature measuring system MF420-5T-100 make possible optimal regulation of the decomposition processes. The limit monitor GWZ-S6 evaluates the data supplied by the oxygen and temperature measuring systems.
 
 

MF420-O-M oxygen measuring system

The MF420-O-M oxygen measuring system (insertion probe) reliably measures the oxygen concentration in the compost and regulates the ventilation of the rotting material during the intensive composting phase with the aid of a control and ventilation system arranged downstream by the user. Consequently:
  • sufficient oxygen is available for quick and complete aerobic decompostion,
  • the energy consumption of the ventilators is as low as possible and
  • the loss of water in the rotting material is minimal.
  • Therefore, the expensive and time-consuming conversion of the rotting material is not necessary,
  • and markedly less unpleasant odors develop.
 
 

MF420-5T-100 temperature measuring system

The temperature measuring system MF420-5T-100 (insertion probe) determines the temperature profile of the compost by means of five measuring points. Thus, it is possible to check whether
  • the optimal ambient temperature for the micro-organisms has been reached and
  • hygienization of the compost is probable.
 
 

GWZ-S6 limit monitor

The freely programmable, self-monitoring limit monitor GWZ-S6 has 6 inputs for measured data (4-20 mA interfaces), to which, for example, a temperature measuring system MF420-5T-100 and an oxygen measuring system MF420-O-M can supply their measuring signals. Alternatively, up to 6 MF420-O-M oxygen measuring systems can be connected to limit monitor GWZ-S6.
